About Tamaris

With two separate staterooms and additional sleeping accommodations in the saloon, the Tamaris is laid out with parties of six in mind. The comfort of a Tamaris boat hire is evident in the skipper’s stateroom in the rear with an en-suite bathroom and large double bed. A nice choice for a 9.70-metre canal boat!

Throughout the process from booking through arrival, signing in, explanation, training and booking out everybody was exceedingly helpful, thoughtful and kind. We set our own itinery and pace in a well planned boat.

Every step of the process was outstanding. We started our process at the Canadian online website and it was a great experience. Our reservation person, Amanda Breeze, was exceptional at finding what we wanted and explaining everything we needed to do to finalize the rental. When we arrived at the boat base in Decize, the manager, Florent Courbez, and staff made a great impression on our family with their hospitality and knowledge. Because of this we are sure to come back to LeBoat in the future. It was an amazing experience. The Tamaris (4+2) is very good boat, it was a perfect fit for our family of 3. Because I saw a lot of newer boats on our cruise, I may plan on renting a newer model next time, but I have nothing negative to say about the Tamaris.

We had great weather and our trip was in fall which meant the reduced number of people took the pressure off all aspects of the trip. The boats were not perfect but the overall experience was excellent. The Tamaris was good internally but the external space on the boat is found wanting. This is an older model boat, it was very reliable but we could only really rate it at 3 stars. The level of comfort internally was good, the quality and level of cooking and eating equipment was only adequate
Hi Merv, thank you for your feedback. We're so glad that you had a great holiday overall and we look forward to welcoming you back on board another cruise soon.

Telephone, reception and technical staff were all very friendly and professional, although the check out was a little haphazard, with no notice taken of the boat faults we had noted The Tamaris is getting a bit 'long in the tooth' but has been reasonably well maintained. Good fridge, cooker and showers and 240v hook up was a bonus but toilet operation really needs to be modernised.
Good afternoon,
Thank you for your review. Our customers' comments are very important to us and we will share your feedback with the Base team.

Booking service before the trip was good. More information on Canal du Midi well before our trip would have been good. Could not start the boat at start of trip. Battery replaced but stll difficult to start each day. No berth available at end of trip. Had to find somewhere else to part it for ourselves. Reasonable price. Basic, old and slow. No side thrusters.
