Very friendly and helpful at both Chertsey and Benson bases. Made you feel welcome and helped us to get to know the boat and how to pilot it boat is great! Definitely add a Le boat trip to your bucket list. Very easy for first time cruisers. Easy boats to operate. We were a group of 7-10 on an Ckassique star and we had plenty of space on board. The Thames lock system is easy to use on eve you get the hang of it. Most of the locks are manned too. En route there a many marinas but plenty of great moorings in the towns along the way. A 10 day trip from Chertsey gets you to Benson and back. Bring a WiFi hotspot with you - with unlimited data. Buying food on the way is very easy as there are plenty of towns.

We had a great staycation holiday, just 60 minutes from home but in a different world. Being our 15th Thames boating holiday we were well versed in the boat yard and the staff helped us have an early get away by being very efficient and organized. Swam every day in fresh clean water just 60 mins from home

We struggled with the technical aspects of starting the boat for the first 2 days and had to call various support lines and wasted lots of hours and money on those calls. I would say the initial demonstration should be more thorough for new starters. We did really enjoy the holiday at the end - the boat was functional, the staff on all Le Boat mooring stations were superb and we would definitely do this again. Functional boat, do not bother purchasing internet, it does not work!

Boating on the Thames with friends and family is our favourite annual staycation, only one hour from home. Total escapism. Perfect size and layout for 3 couples and 2 singles. Bow thruster really helpful to navigate at slowspeeds through the locks.

The staff were great and the boat well kitted out (although the main curtain over the doorway was missing), however we would have appreciated a little more training in manoeuvring the boat (which was 12m long and 4m wide and only had forward and reverse gears) and more advice on possible moorings. We had a lovely few days and enjoyed seeing life from the riverside. Most of the locks we went through were self-service, and we quickly learnt the ropes, however we were lucky on a couple of occasions to find very helpful volunteer lock keepers who manned the larger locks. People were incredibly friendly along the way and we soon adapted to finding moorings just after lunch which left us time to wander around the area and find somewhere to shop or eat. Not easy to manoeuvre, but accommodation was good

The booking and checkin process were very good. The checkout process was not so good. Why? Because there was only one person doing this and, at a peak time for checkout (0900 on Saturdays) this was not helpful particularly when the people in front of you in the queue where faffing about eg they had not taken the engine hours reading and this led to a delay whilst the (sole) checkout girl had to go back to the boat to obtain this. See above answer for my comments.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival, and made us feel at ease at the start of our holiday, and were again very pleasant when we returned. The Classique Star was an excellent choice for us, having plenty of space both inside and out. Although a little battle scarred from previous outings, 95% of the equipment worked OK (one wiper inop, lack of cooking utensils & inability to control the shower heat properly were our only real issues). We also noticed that there was no water hose supplied, which meant we had to do a u-turn to get the tap on the right side of the boat. Hmmm, does this mean you have to run the engine (@ 15p per minute) for longer?
