About Royal Mystique A

Our Royal Mystique A boat hire can accommodate parties up to six. The canal boats feature heating , a 17-inch LCD flat-screen TV/DVD player, and a media center with MP3/USB connectivity and can supply air conditioning even if not plugged on shore power (via a generator). The huge sundeck has a fixed table and cushioned seating, plus a sun canopy. Cabins have en-suite bathrooms.

Recently refurbished

We refreshed and updated our popular Royal Mystique boats throughout 2020 and 2021. Our extensive refurbishment programme saw new curtains, upholstery, flooring and a completely new kitchen inventory, including new cookers and fridges where needed. Plus, our new Bluetooth enabled radio system will ensure you can cruise along with all your favourite tunes.

Royal Mystique A saloon

  • The designer-style saloon has comfortable seating and plenty of room for fine dining.
  • The large settee converts to a double bed. For entertainment, there’s a media center with MP3/USB connectivity.
  • An inside steering station provides excellent visibility, and there’s easy access to the sundeck.
  • The full kitchen/galley includes a small oven, stove, microwave, large electric refrigerator, lots of storage space, and high-quality equipment and utensils.
Royal Mystique A cabin

  • The forward cabin has a large double bed and an en-suite bathroom with an electric-flush toilet, sink, and shower.
  • The exceptionally spacious aft (rear) stateroom has two single beds that can combine to make a double bed. The en-suite bathroom with shower, electric-flush toilet, and sink is luxurious.
Royal Mystique A sundeck

  • The sundeck is very large with a dining table and cushioned seating.
  • Soft under-lighting and security lighting for alfresco dining and relaxing after sunset is inviting and beautiful.
  • A barbecue hot plate comes in handy for heating up appetizers, and there's a portable cooler as well. Enjoy a hot outer-deck shower after a swim.
  • An expansive umbrella (Bimini) provides shade on sunny days. There's easy access directly to the saloon through a companionway.
Air cooling and air conditioning

When the temperatures soar, air conditioning can help make your night’s sleep a little more comfortable. Thermostatically controlled to keep the internal temperature up to 10°C below external temperature.

Restrictions and exceptions

  • In Midi & Camargue, the Royal Mystique boats are equipped with a Bimini – in other destinations, parasols are provided.
  • Lough Allen in Ireland is not accessible on this boat.

  • Hire of the boat, its facilities and equipment, which includes:
           - Fully equipped kitchen on board
           - Fridge, gas oven, hob, dishes and utensils.
           - Bathroom facilities on board
           - Hot showers, toilets and towels.
           - Sleeping facilities on board
           - Pillows, duvets and bed linen. 
           - Heating.
  • Pre-departure briefing.
  • Boat handling demonstration.

Since booking, Le Boat was in regular communication. I appreciated the pre-departure (7 days before) check in and detail they covered at check-in. The staff was really accommodating, whilst we arrived early and the boat was not yet ready, they made available the bicycles booked for us to ride into town to allow them to apply the finishing touches to the boat. The one thing that did catch me off-guard the first night, was the electric ignition on the gas stove and gas bbq was not working. Only the next morning I discovered a lighter which would have helped the previous night. All in all a great experience. Again, awesome boat. We originally booked the Sheba, but due to unavailability Le Boat upgraded us to the Royal Mystique. Practical lay-out, lots of space for 4 people and definitely enjoyed the deck and gasbraai (bbq) outside. Felt like the Captain of my own boat.

The people in the office at both end were very helpful in the process of renting the boat. They made sure we understood the boat and our maps before they sent us on our way. It's a great boat for two couples. Bedrooms are comfortable. Galley and living area were functional and galley is well stocked. Boat ran very well and was easy to navigate.

Our boat was ready and the boat yard was very helpful. We were surprised we had not received a "pre-departure" phone call. The service after we returned was also good. One thing that was a bit difficult was there was not much space for returning the boat. The lake region is very different from the canals of France and just lovely.

We had a fantastic time cruising the River Thames. We had no issue with the boat, it was comfortable and we truly enjoyed our charter. The bow thruster really helped finesse the 46' boat. We cooked breakfast every morning in the galley. Most dinners we did in village restaurants and pubs. Each cabin had a fan which really helped, as it was a hot week. We never used the air conditioning, which was actually an evaporative cooler ('swamp' cooler), it was a bit complicated. We are boat owners, so the orientation took 15 minutes. Super fun way to explore a country!! Nice boat. Very comfortable for 2 couples. Roomy. Clean. Great layout. Bow thruster was a big help
