About Horizon 2 PLUS

The Horizon 2, has two en-suite cabins, albeit a smaller master cabin than the Horizon 1 model and a wet room in the second en-suite. However, it enjoys the same saloon and sundeck space and is perfect for two couples looking for a bit more privacy or a family who would like two bathrooms.

The latest additions to our Horizon fleet, the Horizon PLUS models are identical in build, layout and quality to our standard Horizon fleet, but have a few additional features to make your experience even better.

Additional ‘Horizon PLUS’ features:

  • Hotel quality mattresses with memory foam – on all beds
  • Premium cushions on the sun deck seating
  • Smart TV’s on which you can watch films and TV shows and listen to music*

*Smart TVs can be used to watch films, TV shows and music streamed via services you have subscribed to on your smart phone. Reliant on receiving a good internet connection at time of streaming. Please note: sundeck sinks are not available on any of our Horizon PLUS boats.

Air cooling and air conditioning

When the temperatures soar, our cabin air cooling system can help make your night’s sleep a little more comfortable. Air cooling uses canal/river water to produce cool air which is blown out through vents.

 

Please note: This is not the same as air-conditioning which can achieve lower temperatures and has a thermostatic control. Performance significantly reduces if canal/river temperature is too high.

Good to know...

  • Due to low bridges in Brittany, this boat can only navigate up to the entrance of Rennes. You will be unable to navigate the waterway Northwards from Rennes to Dinan. Southwards there is no restriction.
  • Hire of the boat, its facilities and equipment, which includes:
           - Fully equipped kitchen on board
           - Fridge, gas oven, hob, dishes and utensils.
           - Bathroom facilities on board
           - Hot showers, toilets and towels.
           - Sleeping facilities on board
           - Pillows, duvets and bed linen.

The Le Boat team in Smiths Falls was amazing, and even when we ran into a problem on our last day the tech jumped in a truck and came out to solve our problem so quickly, we hadn't even finished coffee! Thank you to the amazing team at the base. We'll definitely come again. Loved the boat. Everything was as advertised, and worked super well. The experience could have been ***** however the final impression was that we as the client / guests were caught up in a dispute between Le Boat and the Smiths Falls Lock Operator staff who appeared to despised and ignore Le Boat, its customers and its staff. This was exacerbated by the Le Boat staff who then wanted to penalise us for the delay caused. This tainted what was otherwise a fantastic experience. The Horizon 2 Plus vessel was fantastic. The Rideau Canal was a perfect location and [all] other Lock Operators were most helpful. The boat was brilliant, could not have asked for more. However, it seems that Le Boat needs to manage its relationship with the Smiths Falls Lock Operators to prevent guests being affected by the stressed relationship.

This is the sixth time we are doing a cruise vacation with the company Le Boat As in all previous times we very much enjoyed an excellent, professional and very sociable staff. We got a decent return for the price we paid The boat was ready on time, everything was clean and cozy. The principal people we dealt with were all highly professional, interested, and competent. Small matters remained small matters and larger problerms were addressed with dispatch.. We had forgotten a few minor items and these were provided, graciously, by the staff as soon as they became aware of it. Our main disappointment was the boat itself. Although it was designed for a special purpose, and, for the most part, served that specialty well, it did not steer nicely and tended to wander at cruising speed. This meant that long spells at the helm were tiring and unpleasant. A lesser problem--and a fixable one-- is that the boat lacked screens in strategic places: Main cabin door, some portholes.
